To be at Cape Byron for sunrise is an invigorating way to greet the day. The views from Cape Byron Lighthouse are worth the effort.
the "tour" was organised by the guest house. sunrise! perfect! After that we went to the next beach walking and had a very full on breakfast. Saturday morning extravaganza
Set out by mid-morning at the latest, don't rush, stop often, take in the views, enjoy watching the dolphins and sea turtles, leave the iPod behind and just let it all soak in. For those who believe in a loving creator, the Lighthouse Trail only confirms that this piece of creation is especially blessed. May it stay that way.
we hiked all around Byron for hours, along Tallows and up to the Lighthouse, we took the trail back that goes through the rain forest and around the bays back to Clarks Beach, it is simply stunning and well worth the effort. If you have running trainers you should def run it as thats what all the locals seemed to...

This is a must do for holiday-makers. Great to walk along the coast and return along the road (path provided). Very busy road.
Quite demanding hiking to the lighthouse but very rewarding and a good feeling being at the most eastern point of Australia. The views are magnificient.
A great walk with amazing views. If you do the full loop there is a lot of stairs. You can visit the Eastern Most Point of Australia, see Wategos Beach, Little Wategos Beach and enjoy the view from near the lighthouse.
Easy walk to the point of the most Easterly point in Australia, however maybe a little too far for young children if you plan on doing the whole trail down the penninsula. My kids got there, but forgot about the walk back up! If you decide to do it, just be prepared.
The path is well marked and set up with steps and boardwalks as needed to access some very beautiful scenery and lookout points along the way. It can get a bit slippery as rain comes off the ocean frequently and quickly so plan footwear accordingly...
