We had a great time at Hermosa. Easy to rent a board and go out for the day. The beach is huge and the surf good. We look forward to returning.

Beach is wide and beautiful. Perfect for beginner surfing...waves were not too high, but they have a long ride to give you longer to stand up. Instructors were okay, but a girl who surfed the day before us was in our group again on second day so she had to listen to all of our beginner instructions again. Great setting...

This is a really nice beach, nice people, beautiful environment and in January the month I was there, they give you the chance, when nature is ready, to release baby turtles! It was so cool. I visited three times with two turtle releases, we released a total of over 100.
There is shade at the beach, chairs, hammocks, food, drink, bathrooms...

Playa Hermosa surf camp is situated on arguably the most beautiful beach in/around SJDS. Multiple point breaks to surf. Great spot for beginners or advanced surfers. Beach is huge and
clean. Plenty of hammocks and a small, chill eating area with delicious food. Saul is a fantastic surf instructor and even nicer guy. So ask for him.

Be careful here. Do not segregate yourself. Stay near the camp. The beach is beautiful!!! But we were robbed of all our belongings by three masked men w/ guns and machetes. The security at this beach is not up to par and the response by the police will leave you worrying. BE CAREFUL.
We were a small group staying 1 night/2 days and the location is absolutely beautiful with a long, wide Pacific beach! The rooms are fine (try to get seaside for better breeze) but not all beds have mosquito nets (which you will want as you need to leave windows open to air out the room). When we arrived they were...

I didn't take surfing lessons through these guys, but I was swimming at Playa Hermosa and got caught in a rip-tide, one of their instructors, Eduardo, came out on his surfboard to rescue me and bring me to shore. Super nice guy and very humble. Thank you!!!
While others surfed, we walked the beach. It was clean, beautiful and relaxing. We had a small Rancho with chairs and a table for our group. Grilled sandwiched and wraps were good.
to keep you all away. Great beach for surfing hanging and now even staying the night with their new 6 (?) room facility. It's no Hilton but the waves are great. $3 entry fee keeps out the riffiest of the riffraff. A few too many package surfers nowadays but still hard to beat. Did I mention they had a great...

It was my first time surfing and Saul showed me how to surf. I am not the most coordinated person, but I was able to get up a few times. I paid $25 for 2 hours of private lessons and then had the board the rest of the day. Saul actually went out with us a second time and took...
