Took a walk around City Island today since it was sunny, albeit a little cold. In winter the island is really only used by commuters to Harrisburg for parking. This is a great place to go for the day. It has a foot bridge connecting it to downtown Harrisburg. It is about 3/4 mile walk around the island itself with kiosk for food and drinks.

Although former Mayor Reed is being blamed for the current financial crisis of Harrisburg - his charming achievement has to be City Island - home of the AA Harrisburg Senators baseball team. But there's much more to City Island than just baseball - soccer, mini-golf, rides, shops, etc. A GREAT place to spend the day with the kids.

Beautiful surroundings that are nice and quiet. Make sure it's a sunny and not so windy day so that you can enjoy your time without being too cold. Be sure to make time for this attraction.

There really isn't much to do here for my demographic (college student aged). Senators games are OK if you wanna see some baseball, other than that, just stop by and then head out. There's really nothing to see. Families will enjoy it more.

Off season not much was open but it was worth stopping and walking around. There is a beach in the summer, boat rentals, a steam boat trip,the Senators ball field and rides for the kids. Admission is free to walk around. If you are in Harrisburg, swing by and see what the Island has to offer.
