The lighthouse keeper's house was open and were able to walk through it. The lighthouse is once again working. The drive up to the lighthouse is a camera takers delight.

A really great photo op for sunrise from Moolach Beach, just north of the lighthouse---also good for a night shot from the same spot.
This lighthouse sits on a bluff above Yaquina Bay. It is often confused with Yaquina Head, a taller lighthouse located at the Northern end of Newport.
It really is a unique lighthouse, worth stopping and wandering through. It was only active for three years. In the basement, you can watch a video about the lighthouse's history or visit the gift...

A lot of stairs but a nice place to visit, good view. Visit at low tide so you can visit the easy access tide pools while you are there!
We arrived at 4:30, just 1/2 hour before they closed the park, so we were not able to really take advantage of everything the park had to offer. We will definitely be back (earlier) the next time we are down the coast. What we did enjoy was the sheer beauty of the landscape!
A very picturesque place offering the eye (and photographer) outstanding views in most all directions. A continual breeze blew across the shore and freshened us as we paused our trip here. Below, we watched seals and puffins playing in the waters.
The area has a stairway down to the cobble beach below. For those up to climb, you were offered...

Great place to tour! Perfect picture spots. Saw 2 bald eagles. We had such a wonderful experience! Easy to get around. Took steps down to beach. Came back earlier in the morning, 2 days later and went tide-pooling. So awesome!! The tide was so far back, we saw TONS of colorful creatures. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!
This lighthouse park is fantastic. Tide pools, hikes, seals, lighthouse tours a must see and inexpensive. Do not miss
Scenery was breath taking. We keep comming back to just sit and absorb the sights and sounds. A nice time out spot.
We drove there and the gate was open, but no one there to collect money, so we drove in and took a few pictures of the lighthouse and the rocky shoreline. Very picturesque.
