Great family hike. I went with my family- the age range was from 4 to 78. We all enjoyed the hike.
It's about a mile plus up and then you can hang around the lake before you turn around and head back down. You can play in the water, fish...or just enjoy the scenery. I wanted to do a more...

Purchase the required pass before you park your vehicle. Wonderful trail with a fantastic view of Mt. Hood at the end. 2-3 hours well-spent!
Very rewarding 1/2 day "out & back" hike. This hike is a great option if you want to take in the spectacle of Mt Hood without committing an entire day or more to it. The level of challenge is enough that I can't see you getting to the summit of with small children or if you're not in decent shape....

Several mile round trip easy hike to small lake very close to Mount Hood. Spectacular mountain view. You can do this hike with a five year old child
Frommer's rated this hike as easy, not so. Most of it is uphill, and it took some effort to get there. However, the hike is beautiful and wonderfully green in the summer. Mirror Lake is tiny, but the view of Mt. Hood in the reflective waters is worth the hike. I've included photographs of our memorable experience.
This is a very nice hike on a very well marked trail. It is about 1.5 miles uphill, is mostly shaded, and your kids may want to turn around, but keep going. When you reach Mirror Lake, your efforts will be paid back in a lovely view of Mt Hood, as well as the Tom, Dick and Harry Mountains which...

Quick access from Portland. Great for snow shoeing or summer hiking. Follow signs to go up Tom, Dick & Harry for an amazing view and a round trip hike of 6 miles. (Turn left at the big rock pile). Don't forget to get a sno park pass or parking pass to park.
A good chance to walk into the woods. Hike is not to long and not real strenuous. You walk through a pretty area and when you get to the lake you go around it. Some folks were letting their dogs swim which was fun to watch. You need a $5 parking permit you can pick up at forestry office not...

Gorgeous, woody trail follows a busy mountain stream for the first quarter mile. Best to get there early to avoid the throngs of weekenders on the trail. Once at the top, take the trail around a mosquitoey little Mirror Lake and catch some great photos of a double Mt Hood where the reflection is just right.
