The unkept property and empty parking lot should have been clues that we were at the wrong place. Gamely, my wife and I entered in with the hope of finding a secret treasure. What ensued was probably the worst tasting experience out of the nearly 100 wineries we have visited. We began with what was supposed to be Pinot Noir,... More

This is the only winery we did not buy a bottle to get our tasting fee back. Wines were just too sweet and fruity for us. Not one of the nicer wineries in Hood River, but located right near all the others so we stopped by. will not return.

Nice setting, friendly staff, and some of their wines are very nice. Try the Gewurz...it is special.

Not the most impressive winery in Hood River - it lacks the polish of the others in the valley. However, they are the oldest winery in the area so it does have it's place in the market. I tried several of their traditional wines, but was unimpressed - they all tasted "earthy" {like dirt} BUT their berry ports are wonderful... More

The road to Hood River Vineyards is steep and gravel, flanked by vineyards that look untended, with long grass and weeds growing into the vines. When we arrived, I asked to use the restroom, which was very dated, cramped by a large water heater, had various cleaning bottles scattered around and spiders. The wines are ok, but if you go... Nice owner. Nasty wine, and place. Bathroom could pass for a cheap gas station, and the wine is not worth the trip.... We actually bought a bottle instead of tasting, and that was the worst choice. We ended up dumping the wine when we got home....yuck!

As a previous reviewer stated the traditional wines were average at best. However, we bought a bottle of the marionberry port and it is delicious. I would recommend making the stop if you are in town touring the wineries.

We do a lot of wine tasting and usually we can find one or two wines at every vineyard. In our opinion all their wines are not worth drinking.

Wine is such a personal taste and I am a believer that you must make the choice on your own. This winery is a small operation and is up on a dirt road. They grow most if not all their berries on their property and have been doing this for a number of years. I personally was not a fan... More

My wife and I love to try new wines and have a glass of wine with dinner most nights. We're not novices at tasting; we know our wines. Hood River Vineyards was recommended in local guide materials so we looked forward to a visit. The woman in the tasting room could not have been nicer. It's not a fancy facility,... More
