The broad area of coverage (lots of real estate) allows for solitude, even more so on a wet day. I was there during a corporate volunteer clean-up, but it was still enjoyable eve nthough i was "sort-of working".

depending on what time of year and what time of day this is a great spot for bird watching. there is a resident bald eagle couple in one far corner which i've seen more than once although didn't see it on this trip. there are a number of blinds which allow you to take photos without disturbing the birds. again,... I live very close so it's really convenient for me to jump in my car with a camera and binoculars and head on over. It's free and if the weather is nice it's a great place to spend an hour or two hiking around and bird watching. I've seen snakes too which is always fun. Their info center is also... More

We enjoyed a stroll around and caught glimpses of a few unusual birds on a very pretty day. Convenient and easy to find, would also use bug repellant on next visit. Overall it was worth the stop and we would surely return if nearby and looking to get out for a stretch.

Not good facilities, but it is a nature reserve. Nice sights and photography opportunities.

There are some beautiful birds around, and seeing the baby geese in the springtime will make you smile. Just be careful if you have alllergies. Unfortunately, some subdivision developments have recently become visible in the area, but... More

This is a great place to take kids. Whether on a field trip or just for fun. Lots of wooded areas, information about the different trees and plants, and many trails to choose from. Just make sure to wear tennis shoes and bug repellent.
