The only reason this did not get an "Excellent" rating from me is that I would love to see it improved with separate lanes that divide walkers and bicyclists. Despite that, I am on it on a regular basis and every time I use the trail, I feel that it is such an asset to our community. When I walk... More

I walk on the bike trail every day in a section where old gravel mines have been reshaped, flooded, and replanted to create small lakes and wetlands. The bird life is amazing. I have seen: bald eagles, great blue herons, cormorants, wood ducks, golden eyes, owls, teals, coots, mergansers, grebes, kingfishers, and common varieties of ducks and geese. The path... More

Beautiful views along the trail. Walked from river valley inn to downtown Eugene. Not a short walk but the hotel picked us up in the shuttle at the end of our walk. More

Eugene is a bike and pedestrian friendly city to begin with, but if you want to get off the streets, this path takes you along the river, through wild areas and forests. You can get through distant parts of the city, from the mall, to the downtown and courthouse, to campus and beyond, so it's very utilitarian. I imagine that... More

Maybe I'm just a worrisome old woman but I have to caution you to be aware of what's going on around you. I've walked and rode the trail quite a few times and never had any issues. The location is gorgeous and the trails are well kept. The only negative is that there are a few homeless people that reside... More

We are so blessed to have such a beautiful, long bike trail all along our Willamette River! Weather you ride for business or pleasure, there are miles of trees, wilderness areas - even ride to Valley River Center, or downtown Eugene; wherever you ride, there are interesting and beautiful sites along the way... and the Willamette River too! Great trail but dangerous if your dog gets loose and jumps into the river - so keep them on leash! More

whether you are commuting or just out for a ride, the bike path is the way to go. Very little interaction with roads and cars, just keep an eye out for cyclists going faster than you and walkers going slower than you. More

This paved bike trail loops a long section of the Willamette River in and near the heart of Eugene, on both sides of the river. Because of so many bike bridges spanning the river, you can select the length of ride you'd like. Biking alone, it's a peaceful getaway. With kids, it's a thrilling adventure. This what Eugene is all... More
