You can meet the farmers and ranchers that grow the food that you put on your table. The growers will show you their fields and pastures, the places that make their products so unique that you will begin to understand and appreciate what fresh, local, organic, seasonal and sustainable food is all about! Our cooking classes are the best! Chef Bette teaches children as well as the experienced cook new things to do in the kitchen. From Wood Fired Cuisine in her pizza oven paired with Bend' famous beers to French pastry or children's classes, a day in the kitchen with Chef Bette is a memorable event. « less

My daughter and I spent a fantastic afternoon with Aliza on a culinary walking tour of the west side of Bend. We learned a tremendous amount, particularly about locally-sourced food, and ate even more! (I think it was more of a waddling tour by the end!). Aliza was charming company and very knowledgeable. Looking forward to trying one of the... More

A group of 10 of us recently went to Chef Bette's home for a wonderful cooking class/dinner customized for our group! We totally enjoyed the learning, hands on, experience but enjoyed even more eating the delicious meal that SHE/we prepared!! A warm gracious host, Chef Bette and Aliza, made our evening memorable. I've also taken guests on one of her... More

As a skiier returning to the Mt. Bachelor/ Bend area for the 2nd time, we discovered Chef Bette's class and our group was very happy it did. Aliza set it all up for us and when we arrived we were not disapointed. We ordered a variety of wine selections from the store Chef Bette recommended and they were waiting for... More

We relished the opportunity to put together this culinary evening for your ski group and are so glad that you enjoyed it as much as we did. Next time you're in this neck of the woods, we'd love to take you out on a tour (if we can lure you away from the mountain). More

We were in Bend for a ski trip to Mt. Bachelor last week with our ski club. Some of us attended a cooking class/wine tasting at Chef Bette's beautiful home. Chef Bette and Aliza were tremendous hosts and a good time was had by all. The food was great and the recipes were provided to us. Thanks!

Informative and luxuriance teaching environment. Good value for a great cooking class. Enjoyed learning to cook pizza on stones.

Thank you so much to Chef Bette and Aliza with The Well Traveled Fork for the fantastic Culinary and Farm tour last week! It is so much fun to take the day to live like a tourist in your own town and learn a bit more about the wonderful food purveyors and small business owners in Central OR who truly... More

We went to Bend for the first time wanting to have a culinary experience and contacted the Well Traveled Fork. Took the pizza class taught by Chef Bette Fraser in her magnificent kitchen. The pizzas were out of this world. We have been converted to figs! Traveled to the Blue Moon Ranch to see alpacas and the Deschutes Brewery. The... More

I was fortunate enough to be invited to attend one of Chef Bette's cooking classes while in Bend, Oregon last week. This class was on soups and stocks. We learned to make chicken and beef stock, and delicious tomato and french onion soups. This was a hands on and fun class. While learning to make these soups would have been... More

Sure, you could do one of the myriad activities in Central Oregon (golf, hiking, kayaking, tennis, aquatic center, etc.) or try something completely different. I would highly recommend either a farm tour or a cooking class with Well Traveled Fork. Chef Bette does a great job with class and a fair amount of fun.
