We are not big museum visitors, preferring living landscapes to dead exhibits - but this place is worth a visit. Especially good was the Ross Tiger - made to live with a conducted tour by John, a former 2nd mate on a Grimsby trawler - so he knew the ropes - and the life too.

Really interesting museum with realistic sets and interactive games for children. Also a chance to look round a real deep sea trawler, scary to imagine going to Iceland in it.

Great value for all the family. Plenty to see in the museum and lots to interact with. There is also a fishing boat tour which takes 1 hour and you are shown all round the boat.

The best museum in the area, good valuse and intereting refection on the town, particularly interesting if you have no knowledge of the towns heritage and the cod wars

A fantastic visit, very interactive and well set out. The museum first takes you through the history, icelandic cod wars and victorian deck hands. Then you travel through various settings, ranging from an being on deck in the Arctic catching the cod to the fish shops serving it. You cant go without a visit on the ross tiger, the guide... More

While visiting friends who live locally, we visited the Fishing Heritage Centre. It doesn't sound like it should be a big draw, but I was pleasantly surprised at how interesting and absorbing the visit was. This was also the first visit for my friend, who has lived locally for over 20 years, and he too was impressed. The centre itself... More

Went with my mother in law and her sister and brother in law who were over from Australia. Enjoyed lots of the exhibits but some of them seem a little tired and could do with upgrading.
