She was allowed to stay here because part of Osbourne house was a centre for rehabilition for ex service personel up stairs above the public rooms . The victorian history and love and passion of the young couple then rulers of a huge empire was very clear . We are inclined to think of the victorian age as dark and... More

We visited here as a couple and really enjoyed the day out. The house is interesting but really English heritage should provide more information in each room for those people who don't want to purchase a guide book. The paintings were fascinating but such a shame not to be able to work out who everyone was. The gardens are lovely... More

I visited today, somewhat reluctantly with the older members of my family, but I have to say I really enjoyed the experience. We spent all day here, soaking up the history. Seeing where Queen Victoria received guests for dinner, the children's nursery, her beloved Alberts study & I also have to admit it seemed rather poignant to be gazing upon... More

Having visited Osborne House many times, we were looking forward to going down to the 'Queen's beach' and were not disappointed. It was lovely to sit in proper deck chairs eating ice cream from the little hut on the beach (which also does a great hot chocolate with all the trimmings!) and looking out to sea. Everywhere on Osborne House... More

A gorgeous former home of Queen Victoria, which was obviously just that - a home. Have been on several occasions and it is always busy (being close to the ferry terminal is popular with day trippers and people going to / from the ferry). Take the time to look at everything closely for a really interesting few hours - try... More

This is one attraction not to be missed and it is only a short 10-15 minute drive to reach after driving of the Ferry at East Cowes. As you are on the correct side of the Rive Medina do visit this first to save lots of wasted driving time if in a car. This site is now managed by English... More

Visited Osborne House with friends and had a lovely day. The House and Grounds were lovely. It is an amazing House and was so Tranquil, despite all the Tourists. We walked down to the private Beach and saw Queen Victorias Beach Hut. Definitely worth visiting. Some of the furnishings had been re-upholstered and carpets and curtains replaced. Which really brightened... More
