Everybody was so accommodating there with a last-minute booking. We were warmly greeted even though the pub was busy. Great service from all the staff and excellent food. Ale kept well. been a few times now and will certainly keep going back.

The friendlines and helpfulness of the staff plus the excellent menu of freshly cooked food. A word of warning though - the main courses are enormous and most of the starters are big enough to pass as a main course! Excellent value if you have a large appetite, but for us lesser mortals the choice of two starters (as a starter and a main) is more than sufficient. We were a group of 11. Despite most having different orders, the food all arrived at the same time, piping hot and efficiently served.

Such a welcoming and friendly place. Delicious food in a lovely traditional pub. No blaring music just friendly guests and staff.

I went to the laughing fish this week with my sister, we had come from Brighton and wanted to find a nice pub. The staff here were so lovely, really welcoming and friendly. The chef especially (sorry can’t remember her name) was really nice. Food was delicious, would highly recommended to anyone wanting a pretty pub with good atmosphere!

We called into The Laughing Fish for lunch having travelled form Dorset.
The staff were very welcoming and friendly.
We had a light lunch of local sausage & onion sandwich. The sausages were gorgeous and meaty, the bread was a lovely crusty granary.
It was Macmillan coffee morning day and there were stacks of cakes on offer for dessert and they only asked for donations.
Well done Laughing Fish

Lovely traditional pub, great range of real ales and ciders, with welcoming and knowledgable staff. Although we did not eat, the food that appeared for others looked and smelled lovely. Definitely worth a visit if in the area.

Been a while since our last visit but it was just as good as we remembered. The staff are very welcoming and the food and drink excellent. My husband enjoys his ale and I like a cider...both very plentiful choices. The menu was very varied, even on a Sunday which is not always easy to find. The meals all looked lovely. We had sandwiches which were huge! Brilliant value and we will return sooner next time. Well worth a visit and a beautiful setting next to the Lavender Line.

We visited this pub for lunch many times during 2018 and have had excellent food. We wondered if the chef had changes as on our recent visit, lunch was very disappointing. The pastry on the steak and kidney pie was burnt, the crispy belly pork skin was very soggy the vegetables were luke-warm and the plates were cold.
