Daintree Boatman Nature Tours provides small-group nature cruises in a small open vessel for an intimate exploration of the Daintree River and its tributaries. Cruises are generally provided at dawn whilst birds and reptiles are at their most active and visible. On a two hour cruise an average of 50 wildlife species are seen or heard. A checklist of what is seen on each cruise is uploaded to the tour website each day. Daintree Boatman Nature Tours also provides full day road tours to local birdwatching hotspots.

We took the dawn trip in mid-October with Murray. Despite the continuous very heavy rain - the worst 24 hrs in QLD October history! -we had a great time. Murray was friendly, knowledgeable and quite surprised and pleased that we wanted to keep going despite the weather. He knows the river really well and has the ability to make it...

Murray Hunt is a nature lover and bird expert. In a comfortable no-frills shallow bottomed boat, Murray will guide you up a segment of the Daintree River to locate birds and wildlife, which include raptors, endemic and other native birds, as well as other wildlife such as tree snakes and crocodiles. I thank you for this timely and thoughful post. I have known Murray and watched his progress as a professional tour guide for 10 years. His working time in all of Australia's birding hotspots brings un-paralleled experience to the Daintree. Kakadu's loss was our gain.
