The pyramids are amazing, but you will need to manage a few basic obstacles to get there and get around. I organized my review into sections, so you can just go to whichever point you care about most. I am also including a brief list of most important suggestions. These are located at the bottom of this review. Going there:... more

plan to leave early in the day, the drive is not too bad, parking was very accessible. plan to be there for a few hours if you want to climb both pyramids and see all the other dozens of little pyramids, temple, and what looks like a sports field, the place is huge about 1.5 miles long. Sadly the pyramid... more

If you want to experience the Mexico beyond the beaches, you've got to include a visit to Teotihuacan. The site boasts the third largest pyramid in the world and you can walk up to the top. Be forewarned, it is a climb. Just make sure you get to the top so that you can see the entire site from a... more

Teotihuacan was quite an impressive site with the third largest pyramid in the world. I would not say, however, that it was nearly as beautiful as other archaeological sites that I have visited elsewhere, but it is still worth a visit, even from Guanajuato. On the downside, this was the only place on our trip that we got seriously hastled... more

This was the Capitol of the Toltec Empire era 300AD or before, and is a City fairly intact. This City is called Teotihuacan. It is consisted of the pyramid of the Sun, and the lesser... more

Could have spent more time at the Pyramids, but the Hot Air Balloon ride made up for it. Take the Hot Air Balloon ride in the morning, spend the rest of the day walking among the pyramids. Maybe go back a second day. I read the climb was difficult but not so, you will probably be breathing heavy, but its... more

We went to Teotihuacan a few months ago on a day tour from Mexico City, and it was well worth the trip. Teotihuacan is an absolutely gigantic complex, so be prepared for lots of walking (mostly on gravel). The Moon and Sun Pyramids offer a great view of the area, and a photo opportunity of the Avenue of the Dead.... more

As first time visitors to Mexico City we were told not to miss the Pyramids at Teotihuacan. Not too far from Mexico City it is well worth the trip. Out of nowhere are several large pyramids where you can climb to the top to get a good sense of the magnitude of the structures. We had the good fortune to... more
