Of Yangzhou's two famous garden estates, this was probably the more interesting one. In my opinion, though, they are too much alike for it to be worth it to see both. Geyuan, like its counterpart Heyuan, is overrun with tour groups and wedding parties, whose numbers and whose guides with loudspeakers destroy the intended tranquil ambiance of the Chinese garden.

Steep 45rmb entrance fee. Tour groups with microphones galore. Unless you REALLY like rockeries, you don't want to watch tour groups treating the rockery like an adventure playground. There are better choices in Yangzhou.

This is one of the two gardens of Yangzhou, the other being Heyuan Garden. Parking and the entrance is at the North Gate, along East Yanfu Road (Yan Fu Dong Lu).
