My kids and husband loved the swinging bridge. I am terrified of heights so it was a little scary walking on the bridge but I did it. There are lots of places to take pictures with a great view. Would definitely do it again.

Great place to visit. The history, animals in their natural habitat and the view from the bridge was AWESOME!! The homemade fudge was a favorite with my daughter and I. Most Beautiful views. I have been coming to Grandfather Mountain since I was a child, now I am enjoying it with my children. My 14 year old son absolutely loved walking the Grandfather Trail with the ladders and ropes, it is a bit dangerous and I would not recommend it for inexperienced hikers without proper shoes or water and snacks.... great trip to the mountain just do not take US 221 if you are in any hurry since it is very windy and not going to let you get there in any hurry.
