Felt a bit like a tourist trap, big build up, disappointing visit. Did the whole visit in 20 minutes. Same views can be seen from many free places along the way, the "blowing rock" it self was not impressive at all.

Friendly people and easy to navigate around town. Great restauants. Beware, there is some road construction that is very delayed in completion, but not too bad in the off season.

Granted people's perceptions of an "immense cliff" could vary, but this one is greatly overstated--you'll be thrilled if immense to you is about 30 feet. The Blowing Rock has a unique history and story. The views are gorgeous. There isn't a whole lot to it. The price is not too bad for admission, and it doesn't take a very long time to enjoy the attraction.
