Nothing much to say this place has been here forever and will always be here. Go to the cafe down the road and have a drink (don't eat there) and enjoy the view

Felt a bit like a tourist trap, big build up, disappointing visit. Did the whole visit in 20 minutes. Same views can be seen from many free places along the way, the "blowing rock" it self was not impressive at all.

I agree with the other reviewers- dont make a special trip. Spending $6 per person to look at a rock and a very short observation walk felt like a real rip off. Im not sure how the people that take your money can keep a straight face. Shops in the town were cute, but higher end than in Boone or... More

We stopped at Blowing Rock during our trip to the mountains of North Carolina. It has been some time since I had been here but it is still a great place to come. It was a little chilly when we were there on May 1. You should either dress warm or come later in Spring or during the Summer. There... More

The views were nice but there was not much to it. You pay $6 in a gift shop, walk out and there is the rock. We went because we just happened to pass by it. It is nice for those who can't hike to enjoy the man views. Probably good for little kids but after 10 minutes, you have seen... More

Friendly people and easy to navigate around town. Great restauants. Beware, there is some road construction that is very delayed in completion, but not too bad in the off season.

Granted people's perceptions of an "immense cliff" could vary, but this one is greatly overstated--you'll be thrilled if immense to you is about 30 feet. Quite pricey at $6 a head simply to look at the view. That said, I didn't see anyone (including me) who didn't have a good time, and the view is very good. One time is... More

From the brochures I had seen, I thought this was a big rock that you hiked to. I should have done more research. It is privately owned. You walk into a gift shop, pay your money, then walk out the side of the gift shop and the rock is 50 ft away. very small compared to what i envisioned. You... More

The Blowing Rock has a unique history and story. The views are gorgeous. There isn't a whole lot to it. The price is not too bad for admission, and it doesn't take a very long time to enjoy the attraction.

The Blowing Rock is ok for a one time visit, but it is a little expensive at $6 per adult. the whole thing takes less than 20 minutes, unless you want to sit and stare at the view which is very good. We went in early April and the mountians were not as green as they would be later in... More
