Yes, you do lose the charm of the smaller vineyards, but it is still quite nice. The wines are wonderful, the ambiance is nice, the prices are on par. Live music on the weekends. Nice way to pass some time, if a bit on the commercial side.

While Pindar is the largest vineyard on Long Island's North Fork, and it has been around quite a while, the wines are not the best and it has become very commercial. The tasting room is always packed, people pushing and shoving to get a sip of sub-par wine. Pindar also charges twice as much for a bottle of wine at...

What I disliked was both the taste of the wine and the snobby attitude. If your wine didn't taste horrendous, I could see the attitude. But they have probably some of the worst wine around, so it's totally unwarranted.
Pindar Vineyards is in a great location in the North Fork of Long Island near open farms, roasted corn, fresh baked pies, fruits & veggies for sale. It's good to support our local farms. You can bring your own lunch or purchase food, bring chairs or balnkets, sit back and enjoy the live music. For $20 you get a complimentary...

This is a winery easy to do tastings at. They have plenty of space at the tasting areas and servers were courteous. You can also purchase a few small appetizers if you did not think ahead to bring your own. Nice outside and patios with lots of chairs and tables to sit at. They often have entertainment which is free....

larger winery with nice wine related products, liked the fact that it is an individual tasting and the whole group does not have to try the same wines.. Each of us picked our favorites.
Winery was amazing. Took wine tour of all the wineries on the north fork of Long Island. It was very interesting. Beautiful fall weekend farms in full bloom with pumpkins, veggies and flowers.
I decided to take my wife out East to the Pindar Vineyards for a nice day of relaxation and some good wine. My wife who never liked wine in her life, recently changed her mind since she has been coming with me to the Vineyards. We went to Pindar which the Vineyard itself is beautiful and relaxing and the wines...

Visited this place during my wine vineyard tour of the North Fork in August 2011. I love wine in general (although I can't drink too much), and the variety of wines I sampled in Pindar actually made me take down notes on my iPhone. I made sure to note down the wines I should buy the next time I'm here....

We had never been to a vineyard before and we were very interested. We went on a tour that was both entertaining and informative. We then went inside to taste some of the wine. Very nice....I ended up making a very expensive purchase.
