A nice short, but fairly challenging hike. We went in April, and sections were very icy. Very rocky climb and a fairly rough trail. In some sections it was not clear if the section ahead was a stream or the trail(it was both!) Excellent views at the top. The short trail was more steep and had many more rocks, but... More

There were not many hikers on that day and I had the top of the mountain just for me. That was wonderful and very relaxing.

Really enjoyed the hike on Mount Jo. The parking lot was further than we expected and we stopped at a parking area prematurely; be sure to continue driving until the check in booth where you will pay 10$ for parking. We rented micro spikes for the trail which we appreciated due to some icy conditions. These were available at the... More

Hard work but extraordinary views from the top of this little mountain at Heart Lake. Great first hike for kids or anyone else, quite well traveled and well maintained.

Mount Jo is a relatively short hike but still difficult enough to appreciate the accomplishment with rewarding reviews on top.

My husband and I had never been hiking before and we decided to try it! We absolutely loved it and can't wait to go again! It's really flat at first but then starts to get steep. The view at the top is breathtaking. Pictures don't even do it justice. It took us a couple hours to hike to the top... More

Went in December, maybe in the fall this place is great. Confusing trail and an inaccurate map make this more of pain than it needs to be. Make sure you bring hiking shoes.

Mount Jo is a great way to get your feet wet (figuratively speaking) in the High Peaks region. It's not a strenuous hike at all--something most can do--and it's got a great view at the top. Choose an off day to visit though. It's popular, but that popularity means that it can get a bit crowded. Still, it's always a... More
