Though I am a lifelong resident of the Adirondack Park area and pride myself on my knowledge of the social, historic, economic and political facets of life in the Park, I never cease to be amazed at what more I can learn from a visit to the Adirondack Museum. A sprawling compound of 22 galleries and buildings, the Museum includes... More

Great museum, very kid-friendly for all ages of children. The kids will LOVE it, and the parents will marvel at it as well. Well worth the price of admission!

This was a great place to visit, some of the recreations of some of the local buildings as well at the very professionally created exhibitions made this a fascinating few hours. Added to which it there were additional events going on on site with live music cart rides and much more. Great place to go with a lot of interest.

The Museum itself is very unique in a sense that a good portion of it is outdoors and a mingles with nature and almost everything in the Museum has to do with the history and culture of the Adirondacks. The museum wasn't a part of my itinerary but i happened to take a look because of the spare time I... More

We stopped over at the Adirondack Museum on highway 30 north of Blue Mountain Lake N.Y. on our way back to Long Lake from Old Forge. The complex is several different museums in one with a history of the Adirondack area. You can get a free audio tour headset as you enter. There is a history of logging in the Adirondacks... More

This is a great way to learn about the area, the history and the great camps. I found the museum especially interesting and full of historical pieces and information. Plan on spending a few hours because there is so much to see. We were lucky to have stopped in when we did as it was the last day of their... More

Learn about the great camps, the history, the flora and fauna, and what I thought was most interesting -- the hand made boats and furniture. Lots to see. A bit expensive at $18 per person, but it's worth a day. And of course the view in October is to die for -- awesome.
