Our Moon book made it seem like this hike would be kind of cool, and maybe slightly uphill toward the end. We didn't realize we'd be climbing WAY up, which is AWESOME, because the views just got better and better. Expect some school groups, some whiners (it's not easy at the end), but the view as you are going up... More

About 20 miles off HWY 25, between ABQ and Santa Fe. The road is now paved to the hiking area. Great display of tent rocks and hoodoos. Wonderful hike through a narrow slot canyon.

This is definitely not for the faint of heart or the out-of-shape. It was a tough hike, but worth it.

I have been to lots of National Parks so can start by saying this place did not disappoint. Even though it is technically a National Monument, it is definitely worth a visit. Go early to avoid the crowds and having to wait for other people to pass through the slots. It takes about an hour from Santa Fe to get... More

Second visit, I did not have time to take the slot canyon trail last time or hike to the top. Really recommend it, plenty of photo ops. Make sure you have good grip with your walking shoes. Mine are wearing a bit and I came back down pretty speedily in places. Overtaking someone on your butt can be a bit... More

Many have given great reviews of the hike to the top so I won't repeat that. It took us forever to get to the top since we were stopping frequently to photograph the rocks against a perfect blue sky. We planned to take photos at sunset from the road outside the parking lot, since the color should have been golden... More

We were not sure about going since there are not many people who knows this place. We glad we made it. There are 2 trails, they recommend the Canyon trail which is more picturesque and I'd say its an easy- medium hike. We spent 3 hours hiking, taking photos and just enjoying the beautiful rocks. We saw children and older... More

This was my second visit, and K-K Tent Rocks remains a unique and amazing place to visit. About 20-25 minutes off I-25, this spot has a super cool slot canyon, hoodoos that remind me a bit of Bryce Canyon or Cappadocia in Turkey, and great views from the mesa on top. We did the 1.3 mile hike up to the... More

We hiked on the slot canyon trail at Kasha-Katuwe Tent Rocks National Monument. The trail begins on a sandy path & you hike through a slot canyon with towering "tent rocks". The trail then becomes steep as you climb up to the mesa. You are rewarded with panoramic views of the mountains and of the tent rocks below. I highly... More
