The lake was beautiful and at this time of year very peaceful. Tried some fishing here to no avail. Was told by someone that the lake may be fished out.

We took a nature walk here and visited the Lake. The site is beautiful and a nice retreat from all of the tourist-traps in town.

We have been to this area of New Hampshire several times, and for some reason, never visited Echo Lake State Park. What a lovely surprise. I came back to view Cathedral Ledge in the fall, and decided to check it out. As you enter and drive North through town on White Mountain Highway, turn left onto River Road. (There is... More

We loved visiting Echo Lake State Park. We walked around the lake and enjoyed it. We watched as climbers scaled the nearby rock face. We were nearly alone on the day we visited. Great place for a picnic, I am sure!

For $6 per adult, you can experience a wonderful swim in this peaceful little lake, surrounded by Cathedral and White Horse Ledges. And for zero dollars, you can park the car and get out and hike Cathedral Ledge before or after a day of shopping the outlet shops in town. I've been coming here for 13 years now and I'm... More

Nice safe swimming for the old and young alike. The beach is large, but usually crowded on a hot day. The water drops off very gradually, making it safe for the little ones. The water is very clear, and usually on the cold side. The scenery which is Franconia Notch is one of the greatest in the state overlooking cannon... More

The rangers who work here are really helpful. We sought their advice about where our daughters, 21 and 14, should hike and they offered great advice. We picnicked at the park, lots of tables and barbecues, and then the girls began their hike. Hubby and I came back and forth, the fee is good for the whole day, and enjoyed... More

Lake was clean & warm. Perfect for families, especially those with young children because the swimming area doesn't get too deep. There's a lifeguard on duty. In the trees there are hibachi bbq's - so bring charcoal and have a bbq! There are trails around the lake, which we didn't do because they're not stroller friendly, but we will definitely... More

If you are looking for a nice "beach" day in North Conway, this is a great choice. Sandy, safe, shallow lake's edge, with outstanding view of the mountains and rock face ledges. It's only about 2 miles from the center of North Conway. Plenty of lake front shore, picnic tables in the shade, and a lifeguard on duty. Restroom available... More
