Since it was the end of the season the snow quality was sliding down hill quickly (no pun). There were no lift lines and the two express chairs move you more than 1,500 vertical feet in less than five minutes.

This is not a resort you have to spend all your vacation $ in one day like Heavenly or Northstar. The runs are fun and challenging, and staff is very good.
We made our first family ski trip this month and a friend recommended we head to Mt. Rose, we are so glad we did! It was family friendly, easy slopes, and an all around good time. The Rosebuds school for snowboarding for my 3 kids was good and the staff on the kids side to get them up and out...

Plenty of snow still on the ground for great Spring skiing. Best of all is the incredible value you can get by ordering tickets on line. We were 2 adults and three kids. Total cost $193 which included a free lunch and drink for the kids and $40 towards the adults food & drinks. Top, top value. Nice motorway velvet...

We were hoping to do a little skiing this trip to Reno, but when we got to Mt Rose the slopes looked pretty sparse, so we just headed down the road to the Lake. The resort looked nice and I hear there are a lot of college kids who ski here. Terrain that we could see looked really fun!

This resort is really close to Reno and offers great programs for starters & kids.Check in advance because they have different promos on different days of the week. We enjoyed our day and look forward to our next trip.
We love skiing at Mt. Rose. The base elevation is 8200 ft so if the snow is marginal, Mt Rose has the best snow around Tahoe. The cost is much less than the other resorts, although it is a smaller mountain with shorter runs.
This is a great place for familes, it is close to Reno.
Often times we will...
