I'm so glad we got there first thing in the morning. The office was still closed when we found the Animal Ark outside of Reno. Much later in the day and it would have been too warm for me (I don't deal with heat very well).

While planning a trip to Reno/Tahoe, I came across a deal for two for one admission to
Animal Ark. I am so glad we went!
Having just had knee surgery, they offered me a golf cart to do the trails. They suggested a $10 donation for the use of the golf cart, but we ended up gladly giving them $20....

Such a nice place. Helpful staff. Clean. The animals are healthy and seem well cared for. Such a great experience to be so close to these wonderful creatures. I recommend it to anyone visiting the Reno area.
Unique animal rescue preserve. A bit of a drive, but so worth it. A very worthy organization doing great things for animals that need exspensive care.

If you like animals, and who doesn't, this is a great place to take the kids. It's both fun and educational, and a cause worthy of supporting.
It is so nice to see such beautiful animals so well taken care of. The educational aspect is a bonus. Cheetahs are beautiful and their stories are so interesting. Loved it.
