I wasn't able to get into the Davis Dam area, but drove fairly near it, and it is pretty neat to see. A must see if you are in that area of Laughlin, AZ.

Nice area with a lot of construction going on. The road over the dam was closed but it was a nice drive.

The road that goes over the dam was closed as well as the visitor center. We were able to walk around outside and see the dam and some of the lake which was cool.They also had the signs that told how it was built and info about the colorado river and the lakes. It was a little cool out probably...

I recommend that you see it during the day. Because of heightened security, you cannot get too close to it.

On our third annual Red Hat event in Laughlin a 3 day stay was a wonderful experience.
A welcoming ,caring staff at the Flamingo, a Meet and greet reception at the Ramada, shopping "our official indoor sport"at the Horizon Outlets across the street.
Doesn't get better than that. A 3 day stay was under a hundred dollars plus tax-total!

The dam is closed for all tours do to security issues and available funds. I was there in December of 02. It would have been much better if you could have had a tour of the dam and power plant. There was not much to see except a view of the river and the lake. No plans are being made...
