The view of Lake Tahoe was amazing here. It had a nice sand beach and boat landing. We saw a sunset here one evening and took enough pictures to fill an album!

I've come here several times on family vacations in the past and absolutely LOVE it here. Bouldering, kayaking, swimming, hiking, and just general exploring are merely a few activities that occupied me for hours here. (not to mention basking in the sun, reading, and taking naps on a towel) The views are absolutely stunning and while the water is a...

This park is just beautiful. If you go to Lake Tahoe, you must see this place! My husband and I walked all around and took many breathtaking pictures. I would love to go back there sometime and have a picnic and swim. We went in March and it was too cold to go swimming.
Visited in May. Stopped by during a business trip to Reno. While I didn't get to see much of the Lake Tahoe area, I have to believe that if I lived there, I would spend every day at Sand Harbor. The views are stunning. Since it was early May, nobody was in the water but there were a few people...

We are always at Sand Harbor for the various performances there so we have not actually used the beach. But the location is beautiful and the sand great. And there also are nice facilities right there. But parking can be a big problem and the beach is not free.
Beaches to stop at in Tahoe are few for general public. This one is so gorgeous it is worth stopping to soak in the sun for the day or even to just take photos. Way better than the beach at south shore. Has a boat launch as long as the water in the lake is high enough.
Tired of the wave pools and fancy $100/hour cabañas in Las Vegas? See the real Nevada, and one of the only real beaches in Nevada. Better than Malibu!
Went diving there, awesome visiability. There is a old barge sunk in 15 feet. Have to be a altitude diver. There is big boulder underwater. Saw many fish and 6 inch crayfish. The water is cold but you can't beat the vis.
We decided to go for a drive around lake Tahoe during our recent stay and ran into Sand Harbor. To say it was beautiful would be an understatement! It was gorgeous!! Its the perfect place for stand up paddle boarding. Definelty bring your SUP, canoe, or kayak if you are going to visit here. There are many picnic tables and...
