Great exhibits of Montana area & history and Charles M. Russell works. We always find something new to see in the new exhibits area. There is a hands-on explore history area for kids as well.

We liked the sweet lady there that was so willing to share the history which helped us to better understand the local area.

Superb collections of Charles M. Russell western art, Native American artifacts, etc. Excellent museum store. Helpful employees and volunteers. Parking is free and ample. The museum is right across from the state capitol.

Has a great collection and something for everyone. A traditional favorite of tour groups that has a comprehensive view of all of Montana and the gold rush.

Lots of paintings and displays about the West. Don't get too involved with the grizzly claw necklace like I did -- I turned around and got scared by the real thing behind me. Stuffed, of course.

I didn't expect much from a small museum in Helena but was pleasantly surprised. Very interesting and worth a visit.
