Close to all the tourist areas. Great view of the bridge. Good value for the money. Nice and helpful employees.
Camp on lower levels for best views of bridge. Bit of hwy. noise but not bad. We were in 33 ft. 5th wheel and had site 836. Drive thru....sort of. Essentially pulled off blacktop road into the grass. No pad...NOT level. Didn't use showers but park was well kept and beautiful with fall color. Ferry line (Mackinac Island) had free... More
There are two camping areas, an upper area and a lower area close to the water. Just like most Michigan SP campgrounds, the camp sites are pretty close together. Most campsites in the lower section give great views of the bridge nearby and are more suitable for tent camping or popups. The upper campground is nice for bigger rigs. The... More
Beautiful view of the Mackinac Bridge. As my son-in-law is from Tennessee (has lived here 5 yrs) he absolutely loved the trip. Many wonderful pictures.
The campground was clean, including the bathrooms. The showers were also hot and clean!! There is a great lookout of the bridge to bike to, there are geo cashes in the park, and we went to Mackinac island for a day on the Arnold Line Ferry! You can also ride your bike to the beach and get a close view... More
We visited this park for the first time during our trip to Mackinac Island in June. This park is not big, as far as what I'm used to in Indiana, but the view at the lower campground of the bridge made the camping experience worth while. Beware, this campground (lower) is not friendly to large RV's. You must do your... More
Stay at this campground every year for Labor Day weekend. They have a great staff as well as volunteers to help maintain the park. Close proximity to a couple stores that you can pickup what you may have forgot to pack. Plan on spending a little more for everything. Good prices on wood in the park for fires also.
We camped in the lower campground, site 4A, and had an awesome view of the Mackinac Bridge. It was lovely day and night. You could hear the traffic from the bridge but also the waves of Lake Huron lapping on the shore. The showers were as nice as the ones in my fancy health club at home. There were many... More
The State Park is really nice now since you can enter with your Recreational Pass (on your license tab) and head down to the beach. All the camping amenities for modern as well as some rustic areas.
A very unpleasant guy at the front desk made us make a u-turn and go somewhere else. Even if pets are not so welcome he could have been nicer. I have travelled from Europe, wanted to see some nice place I have read about, but ups.... I can't recommend it, cause I wasn't welcome.
