Nice quiet boat launch during the week. A little busy on the weekends. They have extra parking if you need it. The beach is clean, no lifeguards on duty. There are clean flushing bathrooms onsite too which is a bonus.

We were at Higgins Lake last week and had never been. We immediatly saw the sign for swimmer's itch, which we had never heard of. I visit Higgins Lake every year in July. Last year I went to the North Start Park. I usually go early AM for this visit and it was relatively quiet and peaceful (considering it was July). The park is clean, natural settings, loved it!

This is one of Michigan's most beautiful state parks. Worth the trip north!

Very nice campground, mostly shaded, very quiet, sandy beach is very close with a walking overpass, water is beautiful and very clear, mostly sand, and some rocks in the water. We stayed for 3 nights at this campground. It has a beautiful picnic area that is on the shore of Higgins lake. The campsites are mostly shaded, with nice older trees.
