My review of this butterfly house is basically the same as the other one I posted. It's great, but the staff needs to be more alert of what it's guests are doing and keep them from touching the butterflies in a way that will harm or kill them.

Was surprised to find this little gem on Mackinac Island. Great place to walk to beside the Carriage Museum and a market of shops near the Grand Hotel. If yo love the winged creatures don't miss it, otherwise a stroll into their gift shop may be all the butterflies you need to get.

One wouldn't normally expect a facility of this quality on an island in northern Lake Huron - but this compares favorably with butterfly houses associated with various zoos and gardens. Lots of interaction and interpretive activities available. A great value, as once one has paid admission, it's good for one's entire stay on the island.

Our visit to Wings of Mackinac Butterfly Conservatory was a part of a carriage ride package. If it had not been included, we probably wouldn't have chosen this as a stop. The staff are very helpful with teaching about the butterflies. Dress lightly, it is very humid for the plants and flowers that the butterflies drink from. It's like walking into a hidden world where the inhabitants great you by landing lightly on the hand that is holding the camera while another lands gently on your head. They flutter freely about... Wings of Mackinac competes with the Mackinac Island Butterfly House. Wings is better (in my opinion), but harder to get to. Requires some transportation or a long walk into the interior of the island. Lots of butterflies, including two that landed on my daughter's hand, on one my wifes hat! Nice diversion from lots of other island activities.

My nieces and I must have stayed 2 hours in here just watching all of the beautiful butterflies flying around. It was so peaceful!
