I was going to take a hour or so walk today, but due to the recent rains parts of the trail are under water. I love walking the trail and enjoying nature. My only wish for improvement would be to have access to some nice coffee shop where you could stop, have a drink and snack and watch the other... More

Walking our dogs on the River Trail is great. We walk most often near Hawk Island during the summer and fall and during the winter months near Sycamore Park. Fellow walkers are friendly and courteous and we have always felt safe.

I like that a person is able to get to several locations, attractions from the river trail. It is also a big help in keeping bicycle traffic in a safer location than on the streets heading in the wrong direction and crossing the streets against the lights!

I really like the River Trail. It's a great place to run, walk dogs, and ride your bike. It takes you through all different parts of the city, and there are many parking areas along the route so each time you go you can try new sections of the trail. For the most part, the trail is maintained very well,... More

The City of Lansing can throw all of the money they want at revitalizing the River Trail. However, until the crime rate and negative element in Lansing improves, this worthwhile endeavor is wasteful. I used to rollerblade (15 years ago) along the River Trail almost every day. Today, I certainly wouldn't walk it alone and certainly will not bring my... More

Stretching between Lansing and the campus of Michigan State University of East Lansing is a 13 mile bike/hike trail following the Cedar River and and the Grand River. It passes through Lansing's Potter Park and connects to the Old Town District. It is always busy with families, students, serious bikers and hikers, and people like me who need a break... More

This is the longest bike trail in the Lansing area and it winds through mostly nice areas. Be careful if it has rained a lot recently since some of the areas near the river flood, especially near or in E. Lansing. The areas in Lansing are nice to walk during the winter with views of the city and river.

Wonderful trail that runs along the Grand River. It starts west of the Turner- Dodge House and runs out to East Lansing. It's easy to access anywhere along the trail, so your hike or bike ride can be as short or as long as you like. The trail passes by the Turner-Dodge House, Brenke Fish Ladder, Old Town, Potter Park... More
