We always visit the Pines. The grandkids love the walk and the huge trees. There are some really nice places/trees to take pictures. But the pictures dont do justice to the awesome size of the trees. It is one of the few places left that have been untouched by logging. The only cutting we seen were to clear the trails.... More

We hiked in Estivant Pines in July 2011 while camping nearby. We were there during the week when the temperatures were in the mid 90's in Hancock so it was warmer than a typical hiking trip in the UP. The trees were beautiful and there were some birds to be seen but we didn't see manyanimals. I'm sure the heat... More

Not a whole lot of people, very pretty, got some nice fall color pictures. Varied trails, some parts easy walking, a few parts less easy, but all good.

Great trails and beautiful trees. trails are for more than beginner hikers and can be a little treacherous. Definately worth the trip.

while the trees were huge including some large oaks we found some parts of the trail are difficult to manage becuase of roots on the trail ,steep parts can become slippery.the trees are neat to see their hieght and girth are incredable.

Lots and lots of trees, tall pines. but overstated. So much logging or something going on it was disconcerting. The Hartwick Pines in the Gaylord area is a much superior forest visit. Wouldn't spend time trying to get there from downtown Copper Harbor. Don't see the attraction.

It is a nice place with two hike trails. It is not possible to ride a bike there due to the nature of trails (rocks and roots) but it is perfect for a nice, quiet hike. Another activity for a sunny day in Copper Harbor.

I am not a hiker, and I am not athletically inclined. I am the epitome of sedentary. I know nothing about trees. I challenged myself to this hike through the woods, and it was absolutely beautiful. I saw only two small groups of people out there.

It's a wonderful place with a bit of a bumpy drive in. If you're looking for a beautiful paved road with a special parking place for your hybrid car, stay in the city. This is the Northwoods!

Wonderful walk in the Keweenaw woods---ancient white pines towering overhead----wonderful way to spend an afternoon in the Copper Country!
