My wife and I were impressed by their customer service. When we went to their store yesterday, all the kayaks had been stored for the off-season. In fact, we just caught the owner as he was closing the shop. He went out of his way to rent us a tandem, and then stay at the shop until we had completed... More

First time kayaking - one single for me (mom), dad and 8 yr old daughter did a 2 person. The guy who checked us in was super knowledgeable. At the put out location the kids working there were efficient and knowledgeable as well. The trip was great (except my shoulders got tired). We saw 2 osprey in a nest. Tons... More

I will share however. It is a great place to kayak, and for first timers you will feel safe doing so. Head towards the ocean and you can wind up at a little beach and inlet that is just plain fun so wear your swimming suit. You can head the other direction, away from the ocean,f you feel the current... More

We hired some single and double kayaks for 90 minutes to explore the Bass River estuary. The kayaks were all in good condition with a range of life jackets to suit all sizes. Waterproof maps were provided and advice on where to go to make the most of the kayaking. There are many points to land and swap around who... More

I'd like to add another positive review to Howie's Kayaks. I found "Abi", one of the owners, to be quite patient and informative. We had a lot of questions and she did not make us feel rushed even though it was a busy morning for them. Additionally, she let us know about special sights on the route like an active... More

Great place! Highly recommended! Every time I have visited Howie's Kayaks, (Bass River Kayaks), it has always been a pleasant experience. From the friendly staff in the office, to the fun and informative paddling instructions, this has always been my go-to place whenever my family visited the Cape. I recently moved to Holland, and miss kayaking, so I looked on... More

I have gone kayaking at Howies about 3 years and counting. I have never had a problem here. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They go over paddle instructions so that if you are a beginner you will have basic kayaking knowledge. The staff is quick to answer questions that you may have. They give you direction and tell... Not impressed with Howie's Kayaks My husband really wanted to rent kayaks while in New England. So we rented some for an hour at Howie's Kayaks. They launched from a gravel parking lot that was just sad. Then they had us paddle against high tide as it was coming in and against the wind. The girl said that she was... More
