The environment is charming and the remarkable books are easy to find, There are group meetings and though some of the groups use older books, the library tracks them down and provides them for visitors.

I loved the history. Very educational. Kind of dry for little kids, but great for high school and up!

On 2 or 3 trips to Northampton this museum (just an area on second floor of local library) has never been open. Got a brief off-hours visit; exhibits looked 1950s. But the library itself is great! Privately endowed, great Victorian building, replete with paintings by Gilbert Stuart, Samuel Morse, etc. Friendly staff. Convenient parking, centrally located.

A good 30 minute stop, this museum is great, but very small. Don't expect a lot, but our highlights were the paintings of Calvin Coolidge and his wife that were displayed in the White House, and the old desk from the oval office. Our tour guide was also very helpful and informative.

Coolidge was the last US President to not get an "official" Presidential Museum, but this remarkable resource manages to take up the slack very nicely. A nice stop in Northampton with a plethora of artifacts. A must for a presidential or Coolidge buff.

You'll find the museum located in the Forbes Library by Smith's campus. The museum itself consists of one room with exhibits about the Life of President Coolidge.
