We only had one day available during our vacation to take this trip, and the weather leading up to that one day had been rainy and cold, so we were a little nervous that the trip would have to be cancelled. We called a couple of days ahead of time to check and they said that they were planning to... More

Thank you for taking the time to write trip-advisor talk about the good time you had sailing with us, Teresa. I remember this trip because of the thick fog that nearly kept us from finding any whales this day! It was great when the fog finally cleared and we I saw that big Humpback whale tail in just off the... More

I love Gloucester, and had wanted to take a whaling trip from one of the companies located there, but a trip from Boston fitted our schedule better. However, if you recall, Saturday of this past Memorial day weekend was terrible and our trip was cancelled. When Monday proved to be sunny, I called 7 Seas and they had some availability... More

Thankk you for the nice review Christianne. Yes, the weather was difficult this spring but I’m glad you got a good day to be out on the water. I was the “birder and naturalist” on your trip and I remember this day specifically because of the Magnolia Warbler we saw! I love it when we have people out with us... More

Wow, what a great trip. We were a bit worried, we've been whale watching in Maui and Cabo Mexico and they were fantastic trips. The boats used in Maui and Cabo were small boats, that only held about 15 people. This boat was a huge vessel and held about 250 people. Seven Seas however, promised to only fill the boat... More

This trip amounted to seeing whale backs and tails, which isn't that interesting after the first couple. And, from what I know, the sound from the boat affects the whales. I seriously don't think it is worth the money to see some whale tails, and if it is true that the sound bothers the whales, then that is even more... More

The 7 Seas Whale Watch company is excellent! The boat is clean and comfortable and the staff is extremely knowledgeable. We saw several whales who were feeding. They were super cooperative but at one point two of them came very close and gave us an 'up close and personal' viewing. The excitement of seeing a 'blow' cannot be minimized. A... More

It was a beautiful May afternoon, no clouds fabulous sun shine, but a biting cold wind. The boat had I think they said 120 people on board, but there was bags of room, unlike the boat we saw which had come out of Boston, and looked full to the brim! On our trip out the really fabulous guide told us... More

We were staying in Salem, MA but I definitely wanted to go on a whale watching trip. I tried calling a few places with no luck. Seven Seas was wonderful and not far away. It was May 2012 and they told us that other boats were cancelling their tours but they would guarantee we were going to see whales but... More

This company is extremely professional, with tours given by actual marine scientists who are very knowledgeable and personal. The boat is very comfortable. It was May 2012, and not quite a high season for whale watching, but we saw whales EVERYWHERE when we got to the spot (which too more than an hour an half each way, so prepare to... More

Thank you for the great review. Yes, May is early in our whale watching season and it can be a little chilly out on the water. At that time of year, even when the air temperature is nice and warm, the water temperature is still quite cold so you can expect temperatures to be 10-15 degrees cooler on the ocean.... More

First of all, the quality of the boats that 7 seas has are much superior to any of the others that I saw! The staff is wonderful, helpful and gives a wonderful narrative of everything that you will see on your tour. We were told that they can't guarantee that we would see anything, and I have to say that... More

My family and I went on the whale watching trip in early June. For some reason the whales were further out from Gloucester than normal and we had a longer trip to arrive where they were feeding. We stayed below deck because of the cool weather and were very comfortable. When we arrived where the whales were feeding the captain... More

Thank you for the great review! Yes, it can be a bit chilly out on the water. Generally we tell people to plan on it being 10-15 degrees (Fahrenheit, of course) cooler on the water than on land. Early June can still be cool on the ocean, but by the end of June (and especially through July and August) you... More
