The park has a number of well marked trails. Some were rocky and others flatter or on board walks over the swamp. It was very quiet on a Monday in off season, so perfect for enjoying the sounds of the birds.

If you decide to go to Ravenswood Park, keep in mind that there is limited parking. Otherwise, there a variety of trails to choose from. I PERSONALLY like the "Ridge Trail" because it takes you up on a ridge where you can overlook Gloucester and see Boston skyline. Just watch out for dog poop!
Ravenswood Park is by far my favorite place to take my dog for a walk, no matter the season. It has a wide dirt road loop favored by dog walkers and people with young children and miles of single-track trails that are great for hiking and trail-running - they are hilly and rocky, so more challenging than the main trail. There is always something to see - vernal...

Pick a trail and prepare for a very different topographical experience. From the lowlying magnolia swamp trail to the rocky, ledgy vista trail that brings you to a birds eye view of the breakwater (and is worth doing at least once a season so you can have the improint of the new england seasons through the trees and across the...

Quiet area for stretching the legs on a walk in the woods. Not too many people.
There's always something new to explore whenever you go. Great 4 season woodland.
