The ferry was a unique experience and saved us some time driving. It was fun to relax and enjoy the ride.
I love this ferry service. It can hold up to 3 cars and several foot passengers and bikes. The crossing takes about 10 minutes and once you are in Bellevue it's about a 10-minute drive to St. Michaels.
We were headed from the metro DC area to Oxford, MD. We followed the directions being given by the GSP and ended up at the Oxford-Bellevue Ferry. Even though we could have gotten to Oxford w/o paying for a ferry ride, we decided to go ahead and making the crossing. It was a beautiful day and a very nice way... More
This is about a 10 min boat ride. If the weather is good it is just as easy to leave your vehicle at the Ferry and when you get to the other side just walk around town. It's very small and there isn't much to do. Walk down to the harbor to get an ice cream. There really is no... More
After your visit to St. Michael's take the Oxford Ferry. Drive your car onto the Ferry, park, then get out and enjoy the views. It is a quaint and fun tradition for your family. While you are waiting for the ferry, there is a playground for the children and you can dip your feet and even walk out a little... More
This was a fun and adventurous way to travel to St. Michaels Maryland. I always wanted to ride on a ferry with my car, this was the perfect opportunity. This is believed to be the oldest privately owned ferry in the country.
Oxford is a picture perfect postcard town - sweeping views of the Tred Avon River, a beautiful park, great colonial history, and national icons, beautiful homes, great dining opportunities, the picket fence tour, Oxford Bellevue Ferry, small beach, great for bicycling, best ice-cream ever, beautiful boats and yachts, and wonderful friendly residents. Smiles on everyone's face! A great stay! Even... More
April thru Dec this ferry that holds 9 cars, bikes, & people afoot, travels back & forth across the Tred Avon River providing history, beautiful scenery, & a bit of our Eastern Shore hospitality. Children will especially like this experience.
Not only is it a fun, scenic ride...the captain and crew are always so friendly and helpful. It is so convenient to stay at the Robert Morris and hop the ferry to go see the sights and shop in St. Michael's and Easton. Then return to quiet, relaxing Oxford. A perfect stay.
