One of the challenges of visiting the Pemaquid Point Light is to try to catch the reflection of the lighthouse in the pool of water along the rocky shore. It takes very calm conditions and a bit of an overcast to get it just right, but when you do it makes a great picture. It is a wonderful family experience... More

We have always enjoyed going out on the ledges to sit and watch the ocean waves hitting the rocks. You can hear the lobster boats plying the waters and watch the lobstermen pulling their traps. You can take your dog on a leash and sit with them atop the highest ledge. It's very relaxing.

This was our favorite stop on our Maine vacation! The lighthouse is gorgeous, and you can actually go up into it and tour the museum. The coastline is rocky and spectacular for pictures, you can also go out on the rocks and get an amazing view from any direction! There is a gift shop and restaurant within waking distance as... A great destination. The light house is worth a visit, but the seaside is a photographer's dream. Or just sit and watch and listen the power of the ocean!

If you are in the area, this is a must-see together a taste of the gorgeous Maine coast! The lighthouse is lovely; clean, well maintained, very picturesque. The waves crashing on the coast are the perfect backdrop for this lighthouse. The view at the top of the lighthouse is worth climbing up to the top. Very peaceful, perfect picture of... More

This is such a beautiful setting. We ride bikes so getting to go on roads on the not so popular side of the lighthouse is fun. History of the lighthouse and who lived there is interesting. Lots of parking. Admission

I don't know if I'd travel all the way out there if I wasnt staying in the area. We were there because we were taking the ferry from New Harbor over to Monhegan Island in the morning. We ate dinner at The Sea Gull Restaurant which is right next to the lighthouse. So we were there at dusk and the... More
