The history of the church predates the expulsion of the Acadians.It is the fourth oldest church in the State of Louisiana. Built in 1836 on the site of a previous church, it is the "mother church" of the Acadians. This is a beautiful building, elegant in its simplicity, and historically significant. Well worth a visit along with nearby museums.
