My 7 year old grandson and I visited this well-done museum recently. The collection of war memorabilia is amazing. It is well organized. The introductory video is informative. The displays are well organized. The volunteers are helpful and welcoming. We will visit again.
Outstanding small museum, operation with very little funds from the State-great history of Gen. Claire Chennault, born nearby, who led the Flying Tigers AVP to fight the Japanese in early WW2,with very little help, Museum Director is his granddaughter.
great job. so much history here. nice friendly staff.a wonderful place to reflect on the past. i suggest this as you first stop.
I was very impressed my visit there. From the size of the building I was thinking I would kill 15-20 min walking through it. Boy was I wrong. Anyone interested in aviation will easily spend an hour or more looking at the exhibits and taking it all in. It has a lot of "local interest" stuff but will interest people...

Our boys decided they wanted to stop here. I was kinda skeptical but it was lots of fun and very informative. They even want to go back. This is a great way to spend an afternoon with the kiddos
We were pleasantly surprised to find this in our own back door.. We've been to alot of war museums and this one is just as amazing.
I made quick stop at the museum while in town. The museum has great displays from some well known figures but mainly from everyday Heros from Louisiana. There is a great collection of uniforms and weapons. There is not one signature item, but lots of interesting exhibits. A must see for military history buffs that are in the area
If you enjoy history and airplanes, the Aviation Historical Museaum of Louisiana at Monroe is the place to go. I have been a pilot for over 43 years and I always enjoy visiting. There is always something new to see and the people are friendly and knowledgeable!
I carried a group of Cub Scouts to visit the Museum. We learned a lot about Aviation, Deltal Airlines and Salem Field. We saw many things related to Aviation that we didn't know. The boys loved the planes too. The video was quite educational for me as well as the Cubs.
