My wife and I visited Makers Mark and what a beautiful place and setting. it was the second distillery we visited so we knew a lot of what was said, but the tour guide was nice and informative. We got to see the bottling line in operation and as it tuned out it was the only one we saw in... More

We drove out of the way to visit the Maker's Distillery. We used the GPS on our phone to find the place, otherwise we probably would have gotten lost. The plant is a hole in the wall out in the middle of nowhere country town USA. We enjoyed walking around the visitor's area, where you wait for your free tour... More

I was traveling the bourbon trail this past weekend and by far my favorite distillary tour was Maker's Mark. So fun and so clean and well-maintained and so.....just so awesome!!! It was a self-guided tour this weekend due to it being the Derby and being so crowded. If I had one complaint, it would be that. I think I would... More

Years ago I signed on to a marketing program run by the distillery whereby they make you an "Ambassador" for Maker's Mark for spreading the word about their bourbon. The key perk is that they put your name on a barrel of bourbon and contact you when it has completed its aging so you can retrieve two bottles from the... More

Let me start by saying, this is a solid distillery tour. I'm always disappointed when brewery or distillery tours take you through a museum rather than an actual working operation. Maker's Mark gives you the best of both worlds! All of the buildings on-site have been beautifully restored to their original condition. The family's kitchen was my favorite room AND... More

Not only do you step back in time to the early 50's when Maker's Mark was established, but you get to do so in wonderfully restored buildings that continue to meet exacting standards for a superior product. Stick your finger in the mash and taste it. The caramelized scent of bourbon will permeate your pores when you leave this part... More

It's a close call vs. Woodford Reserve, but if you can only visit one distiller - make it "Makers." The setting alone is worth the drive - a beautiful hollow with quaint buildings all perfectly maintained in a park like atmosphere. And equally pleasant are the people, everyone was very friendly and accommodating. This family run business with an international... More

Got lost twice on the way but finally made it Maker's Mark in Loretto, KY. I'm glad I did! Having been to Woodford Reserve and Wild Turkey before and enjoying them, I have to say that Maker's Mark was my favorite tour of the 3. Guide was friendly and informational, and the grounds were beautiful! It was like walking around... More

Besides being a very good bourbon, Maker's Mark really distinquishes itself by the way it caters to its customers and the public. The tour was more comprehensive than most of the others on the Bourbon Trail and you can even become a Maker's Mark ambassador. At Christmas, they really put on the dog and go all out to make your... We drove from Lexington, KY to visit he distillery. It was in the middle of a remote region. (We learned on the tour that the distillery was located here because of the water supply.) The free tour was well organized and interesting. At the end, you're given samples of bourbon - Maker's Mark, 46 and white Maker's Mark - as... More
