This is a nice park setting with walking trails. We just strolled around near the parking area as it was windy and cold on our visit. If we get back to Lexington, would like to explore more if the weather is better.

There was not a lot in bloom even though it was early May. There is a nice 1.5 mile walking loop through the arboretum with points to stop that talk about the geological history of the area. Many plant displays are identified, and all are beautiful. The area has easy walkways throughout and acomodates various competitions throughout warm months. A favorite of mine was the birdhouse competition.
The park design seemed very simple. Not sure if that is by purpose from the people overseeing the park but I figured with the UK School of Agriculture there plus all the wealthy folks in that area that this place should be some stunning looking park.
It is a great place for people to walk, run, stroll. A vital part of any urban community. It attracts a diverse crowd and allows those who wish to get some fresh air a scenic place to go.
Lovely! A walk through the Arboretum is something the whole family will enjoy. My kids especially like to Koi Pond and the tree trunk jungle.
We have attended several of the plays in the park as well as stopping to walk the beautiful paths when we have time are in Lexington.
Acres and acres of rolling hills nestled in the heart of the University of Kentucky and Lexington. There are a multitude of trails and open areas, well kept but not so manicured as to look like a golf course. You will always find people plying frisbee, flying kites and running. They also have great events like Shakepeare in the park...

There is a huge rose garden with varities I have never heard of .The arboretum in worth you time , However there are lots of varities of flowers day lillies
Every time we go we must visit the children's garden. Awesome activities for the children. They can dig, water and plant seeds with the ladies in the garden and help as they want to. We always spend a couple of hours when we go.
Buying a season ticket to the children's garden is the best if you intent to visit...
