This was great...I didn't have time for the guided tour; however, there's lots to see inside the heritage center. They do a great job teaching how bourbon is produced, and the gift shop has many unique things to take home.

We love Elijah Craig bourbon, one of our favorites. Exhibit explains history of abolitionists, prohibition, and KY bourbon. Tastings and gift shop worth a visit, many jams, spices, chocolate bourbon balls and candles make good gifts. The behind the scenes tour starts with a 10 minute movie and then a personal escort all around the factory and stacks of bourbon...

Although we did not do the official tour, we learned quite a bit from the museum-like displays. It was nice to move around at our own pace. We were then able to join a small tour for the tastings portion in what was the coolest bars of all of the Bourbon Trail stops. There is a nice variety of products...

There are so many better choices than Heaven Hill for distillery tours. Willett is a small operation just down the road and is much more fun. Wild Turkey, Woodford, or Buffalo Trace are better choices for high volume producer tours. This place is really just a big, expensive gift shop. I recommend you spend your time elsewhere.
We took the small tour in house. I don't like the fact that the audio presentation by the tour guide was not good. Hard to hear most of it. The surrounding other activity in the facility was distracting. They need to seperate the tour from the gift shop and ticket purchasing area. Gift shop was fine. I have a thumbs...

Stunning building to welcome visitors. Incredible attention to detail to tell the long history of Bourbon and the influence the families involved with this Bourbon plus the Bardstown region has had in the development of America's Spirit - Bourbon.
With little time, we opted for the mini-tour, 30-40 minutes. They offer a full immersion tour of up to 3 hours...

My second time here. I must have had a small buzz from the other distilleries the first time I was here because I Forgot how lame it was. Basically a glorified gift shop. I enjoyed Buffalo Trace and Willett (just around the corner) much more.
The deluxe tour is only $5 and it includes two tastings and when we made a purchase in the gift shop the tour price was deducted from our sales total. The center has some displays and a very nice gift shop. The tour started with a film explaining about bourbon and it's history. Then we left the building to go...

The tour will consist of a movie and visit to a barrel ageing warehouse, I enjoyed the tour and the tasting room but if you want to see bourbon being made this is not the place, if you are in nearby it will be worth the time to stop in for a tour.
