They give a nice tour of the house, with little stories on the former occupants. Not suitable for kids, who will be bored.
The Lanier Mansion built in the 1800's sits on a slope overlooking the Ohio river. It has a formal garden. It is beautifully restored with some of the original owners furniture. The tour guide was very informative.
I have been to the Lanier Mansion several times in my life. The first visit was as a child when I went with a tour group. Years later I returned with my wife shortly after she and I were married. Then recently, I visited again with my teenage daughter during a trip to look at nearby Hanover College. Over the... More
My wife and I frequently visit museums and old houses while traveling, including many such sites in Savannah last year. Bill's tour of the Lanier Mansion last month was very informative, spiced with personal details about family members and a historical context that brought it all together. This compared favorably with most of the other tours we have been on.... More

She was walking across the room, turned around, and walked back, like she was doing somethig specific, with a purpose. I couldn't see her... More
This mansion was built in the early 19th century in Greek style. It has been restored to its former glory. In fact, the east wing is still being restored since it was modernized in the mid-1800s. Our guide was very knowledgeable about the history of the mansion and the family who built it and lived there. A must see!
Toured the site during the annual Nights Before Christmas the last weekend in November and lst weekend in December. The mansion has a great view of the Ohio River and was built in the early 1800s. Much of the furniture is original to the home. Tour guides are very knowledgeable of the family and history of the home. Recommend it... More
