The history of each war is displayed quite well. The lists of Hossiers that gave their lives in the Civil War, the world Wars, VN, and the more recent wars is humbling and puts into perspective the cost of war. This is a can't miss destination.

The monuments and downtown area are really worth parking and walking around. You can walk to the capital easily and also the square.
I have been all over the world and this is, hands down, my favorite statue. It is huge and there is a museum inside which you can view for free. Do NOT miss this!!
Title says it all. Pleasant to walk around and view from all angles. Amazing how many wars there were. Town seems very war memorial orientated. You can go in but it was closed when we were there.
It was always something to see when we were little and holds lots of memories for me. Now it has more appeal and it is a focal point in Indianapolis. Every city should have such a memorial for their servicemen and women.

Smack in the middle of downtown Indianapolis, this memorial impresses in its solemn stateliness, yet the simplicity of its tribute of remembrance. One of many monuments in this lovely city, next only to Wash. DC, in monuments (and also designed by Pierre L'Enfant, like our nation's capitol city). Well done, Indiana!
We were in town on this holiday and was touched by the sentiment of this huge tribute to Indiana soldiers and sailors who sacrificed for our country. A major street in this Midwest city is devoted to a series of monuments to the armed services and their goal of preserving and protecting peace. Although the interior was closed for the...

Did a walk by today. Didn't get a chance to go inside.. but the monument is very beautiful and respectful. It's very central down town and near circle mall. Check it out.. It can be mixed with many activities and great places to eat dinner downtown. See my review on the Brazilian Steak house!.
Was driving through the city and decided to park and walk around here. Very peaceful and beautifully made. Pays tribute to those who served.
