So much to see and free. Only charged for time limited exhibitions. European art and American exhibitions changing frequently.
We took our 5 year old grandson from NC to see this exhibit. What a great display of costumes, light sabers, models etc. His favorite-Anakin Skywalker and he went back to see it several times. We loved seeing the Hans Solo and the details to his costume. I wish it had been spread out in the space just a bit...

Beautiful gardens and house. Well informed Master Gardeners and House guides. Wendy Wilkerson of the IMA is the group coordinator that I worked with. She was extremely helpful and made the Madison Herb Society's visit a success.
Not much to choose from, visiting meseum for a school project. vissit wasin the evening when most eating places were closed and noting much to choose from. What we did get was okay and I would love to go back when places or open and I can sit down to eat especially in Wolfgang Puck restraunt
Very large modern collection on display. Nice views to the river. Easy location to reach. The new addition is not as nice as the original building.
The only thing negative I have to say is I was kind of bummed to be told there is only one Van Gogh (Landscape at Saint Remy) after seeing all of the billboards around town showcasing V.G. Monet, Matisse etc. Other than that I truly enjoyed myself in the art museum. I didn't get to take in the 100 acre...

I live down the street from the IMA, graduated from an art school, and am a high school art teacher - so I use this place a lot! However, my favorite part is taking my dog on a trail walk on the 100 acre art garden and enjoying the quite in the city!
I enjoy and appreciate the Indianapolis Museum of Art so much that I am also a volunteer. The IMA offers an experience for the entire family. There are numerous galleries showing a variety of art spanning several centuries. 2D, 3D, visual and audio, from my perspective the museum has it all.
