Breathtaking mountains, grass lawn, blue water, good restaurant, family fun. Live music 2 or 3 times a week. Classic American summer tent camp out.
I used to visit Redfish when I was a child. Then it was fun. Now too many people. Too touristy. I prefer places that aren't as settled.
Redfish is a beautiful lake. You can swim, camp, canoe, and much more. The water is crystal clear and COLD. It is a place for family, couples, friends, gatherings you name it this is the place.
We camped for 3 nights and hiked the Bench Lakes, Sawtooth Lake, and then 4th of July and Washington Lakes. Gorgeous, in spite of a bit of smoke/haze from the huge fire burning to the north of Stanley. Love this place
The views and lake were wonderful, clean and cool. Could see bringing kids and all family members for a wonderful experience. Had great food at outdoor venue. Could see staying or camping here.
The drive is between 45-60 minutes from Ketchum. Have lunch either at the Galena Lodge or the Stanley Bakery. Galena is about 25 minutes before Redfish and has hikes and live entertainment on weekends. Food is good the cabin or patio are clean. We hiked high above the lake into 5 little lakes called the bench lakes and enjoyed Red Fish Lake afterwards. It is perfectly clear. The sand is nice also and makes a great place for a family to spend a day. Enjoy!
Drove from Ketchum for an hour, had breakfast in Stanley (more later on that), and then drove 10 miles to Redfish. Amazing scenery. Take the boat ride to the other end of the lake. Great family spot with lots of toys. Didn't have any food or drink but it looked very casual and a bit touristy. But the views......
