As a lighthouse afficionado, this one was special! The surrounding grounds are beautiful, abd the gift show had some wonderful pieces.

This is a self guided tour. The staff are very well versed on the history of the lighthouse. It's not a bad climb to the top and totally worth the trip up.
One of the quaintest lighthouses I have seen. It is located in the Village of St. Simons and creates gorgeous photo opt scenes. You can go up in it and read the history or just sit and view it in the park or go buy local author Eugenia Prices book on the building of it and loose your self in...

Very nice museum--a converted post office--attached to historic lighthouse and keeper's home. Worth a visit when on St. Simons.
The local Georgia Coastal Historical Society has done a great job-again. Well worth the time and money-very good value, and the ocean view is worth the trip. Only complaint is main building in front of lighthouse is almost empty except for a gift shop. Need more exhibits.
A must see and worth the money!! We love lighthouses and this was amazing to see! A fully working lighthouse and the grounds are great!

Loved the lighthouse and the grounds. When I went it wasn't crowded at all, which was a bonus. The people who worked there were very friendly. I really enjoyed being there.
Frederica National Monument is more interesting and has a deeper history. There is more to learn about early Georgia history at the national monument on the north end of the island.
Very interesting history of lighthouses. Climb to the top is manageable even for the elderly. However, it was really windy in March, so we didn't spend much time at the top!
