I loved this beach. Clean and well maintained. Hotel was right behind a lifeguard stand. Not a lot of people when we went. Great place.
There was always a place for us to sunbathe and for the kids to play without being too close to anyone else. The only negative is that people can drive and park on the beach. It was odd telling the kids to watch out for cars when walking from the sand to the ocean.
Ormond is a jewel, it has lovely beaches, many lodging and great dining options and quality and bargain hunter shopping.
Traveled the week before Memorial Day. Was a little surprised the water wasn't crystal clear, but it was clean. There were no jelly fish, no seaweed, and no "no-see-ums"! The sand closest to the shore is hard to lay out on. Opt for the softer sand as you enter the beach area. For those who have children, vehicles are allowed...

Just returned from a pleasant week (May 23 - Jun 1) at Trader's Inn Beach Club, an ocean front condo complex in Ormond Beach. Enjoyed walking barefoot from our ground floor unit, across the pool deck, and down to the clean, soft sand for our morning and evening walks on the beach. Unlike Daytona Beach, no vehicles are allowed to...

Beautiful, calm waters, family friendly and the greatest "beach parks" for the children that a kid could ask for! Also secluded enough away from the crazy Daytona traffic.
We have owned our condo in the Ormond Beach area for 20+ years and love the beach and community. Combines the beauty of nature with the pleasures of modern conveniences & culture.
Very friendly owners and staff, clean quiet rooms, easy access to beach and top notch service. Disliked parking shortage and no breakfast (just coffee bananas and pre-packaged pastries)
Flat sand and relatively calm seas, this place is a great spot for family fun. The lifeguards are a little overly-cautions (you can't get out in the ocean past your waist or they will call you back) but that isn't a deal breaker. Overall, a great place for sun and fun.
