We had an amazing time paddle boarding through the mangroves and around the island. We saw beautiful blue herons - was an awesome trip! More

As a mainer, wer'e big into nature. The closer to nature the better. This place is magnificent, no crazy tourists, no expensive parking. A beautiful beach through a gorgeous walking path, facts about wildlife and a lovely exhibit. We will be returning next year! More

We went kayaking one day. Neat views. Have to go at a specific time though because the tide. They have special events too on occasion. Put it on your list!! More

ok so we are spoiled. We are a 25 minute walk along the beach from this amazing park on the ocean. It is plain and unspoiled with everything understated except the young staff who care about nature with such enthusiasm. A perfect place for young children to meet their first bugs or birds or butterflies AND OH YES THE BEACH... More

Here's a hidden treasure in Florida - John D. MacArthur Beach State Park. There is a nice visitors center, a large boardwalk that crosses the backwaters over to the beach. Great spot to kayak and they rent kayaks there too - we didn't have enough time to do it. You pay a modest entrance fee and can spend the day... More

We rode rented horses along the beach. Nice, not too many people. We had a beautiful day and a great experience. More
